1. Heaton Norris Marker

Inscription. Sir Ralph Pendlebury started out as an apprentice hand-loom weaver, and later owned mills in Stockport. He became Mayor of Stockport in 1838 and died in 1861. Opened in 1882 as an orphanage, by the 1950s, the site was occupied by the Stockport Secondary Technical School for Boys. It later became Pendlebury Hall residential care home, now known as Hilltop Hall.
