1. UH-1 Marker

Inscription. From the roof of the U.S. Embassy in Saigon in 1975, to the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan the UH-1 has been critical to Marine Corps operations around the world. First flown in October of 1956, it was adopted by the Marine Corps in 1963. Since that time, it has successfully evolved through modification to keep pace with mission demands. Flown in a variety of configurations, it has proven itself in peace and combat to be a utility helicopter of unmatched ability. Whether utilized as an airborne command and control platform, inserting marines into a landing zone, or evacuating non-combatants from a combat zone, the "Huey" is one of the most recognizable and respected helicopters in the world.
