1. CH-46 Marker

Inscription. The iconic CH-46, with its unique tandem rotor design, has been flown by generations of Marine Aviators. First taking flight in August of 1962, it has seen extensive action from the rice paddies of Vietnam to the deserts and mountains of Iraq and Afghanistan.

In peace time, the CH-46 was a mainstay for Marine Expeditionary Units whether responding to crisis or humanitarian disaster. Assigned the primary role of assault support, it allowed the Marine Air Ground Task Force to add a third dimension to any battlefield. Fondly referred to as the "Phrog", the CH-46 will forever be revered for its contribution to Marine Corps Aviation.
