Regarding J.G. Marcy Plumbers. This building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 when the boundary of the Sonoma Plaza Historic District was expanded. The NRHP citation reads: "One-story Italianate commercial building, built in 1870, with a false front with brackets, shiplap siding, and large windows."

The NRHP nomination form shows 1870 as the construction date. The marker on the building shows 1886.
