1. Montgomery and Parker Company Historic Bridge Marker
This historic bridge was completed in 1924 by the Montgomery and Parker Company and was in use until 1959. It is listed in the TDOT Survey Report for Historic Highway Bridges, significant for its association with the Bee Line Highway (SR 7, US 31) and for its design as a Warren Through Truss Bridge. Funding for bridge restoration and transition to a pedestrian bridge was provided by TDOT grant, the City of Elkton, and the Elkton Historical Society, Inc.
The Elkton Historical Society, Inc. provided landscaping and lighting for the restored pedestrian bridge, including the hand-stacked stone walls on each end of the bridge. The stone walls were constructed by Elkton resident Jimmy Shannon in 2008.
