Norman E. Staton, Sr. and Ethel L. (Milonich) Staton purchased Building 29 in 1983, the same year it was registered by the National Park Service. The Staton Building 29 will remain in the Staton family trust to be managed by Candi C. Barger and Norman E. Staton, Jr., and their families. This building will serve as a reminder to all those who reside and visit Sitka - its historic beginnings remain steadfast and truly a Sitka, Alaska treasure.

The Staton-Barger family thanks the National Park Service for their assistance and support in protecting Staton Building 29.
