Charles Dunham Garden
University of Delaware Botanic Gardens
This garden is named after Charles W. Dunham, a professor of horticulture and Cooperative Extension specialist with the University from 1954 to 1984. Dr. Dunham co-founded the UD Botanic Gardens with renowned and horticulturist Dr. Richard W. Lightly.
Canopy trees, including an immense Willow Oak (Quercus phellos), provide shade to the paved courtyard. The understory includes flowering shrubs and herbaceous groundcovers, many of which are native to Asia.
