McLean in McLean County, Illinois — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
2016 Mural Dedication
Inscription.
The mural commemorates Wesley "Shorty" Ruble (1924-2008), a beloved McLean barber for more than 50 years. This building housed the last of his locations, which also included the old bank (diagonally opposite) and the Dixie. A recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart during World War II, Shorty is fondly remembered in the community.
