1. Eisenhower Marker
Dwight David Eisenhower (1890–1969) occupied these quarters in 1941 as a colonel and brigadier general. The most renowned of the West Point class of generals (1915), General Eisenhower went on to lead the African invasion and become General of the Army as Supreme Allied Commander of the European Theatre in World War II. After the war he became president of Columbia University, and achieved the highest distinction in the land by serving two terms as President of the United States.
