1. Buffalo Rubbing Rock Marker
Evidence of the millions of buffalo that roamed the plains of this area for centuries is shown by the polished edge of this rock. Used repeatedly by the buffalo to scratch themselves and remove their heavy winter coat of hair produced the smooth surface you see here. Found 15 miles north of Scobey on the Edgar Richardson Farm in 1968, this rock rested in a buffalo wallow over 3 ft deep.
