1. The Sally Port Marker
This arched gateway through the south side of the Quadrangle was the main entrance. The doorway on the east side leads upstairs to the office area. One scene in the motion picture, WINGS!, was filmed in the doorway. Three bronze plaques are mounted in the sally port: President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, a replica of the stone below the clock on the tower and a list of the commanders of the San Antonio Arsenal, 1858–1947.
