1. Water Features Marker
The original tank in the tower was filled with water pumped from the Acequia Madre at the western edge of the post. In addition, there were two underground cisterns filled by collecting the runoff from the metal roof. Three elevated metal tanks were built behind the clock tower between 1900 and 1911 to furnish water for the depot. One tank was moved to the Aviation Post in 1914; the other two were scrapped in 1984. In 1884, there were two water fountains near the sally port. The pond was added after the turn of the century and has gone through several configurations.
