1. John Van Buren Wicoff House Marker

Inscription. Constructed on a 100-acre farm circa 1875, the John Van Buren Wicoff House was originally a two-story frame Italianate dwelling with two-story wings to the east, west and north. Born in this house in 1878, John V.B. Wicoff lived his entire life here until his passing in 1952. During his time, John V.B. Wicoff expanded the house several times, making it a home for several generations of Wicoffs. The house stayed with the Wicoff family until it was sold in 1977 to Plainsboro Township.

In 2015, Mayor Peter Cantu and the Township Committee began the process of restoring the house. Its completion and rededication occurred on Plainsboro's Centennial Anniversary, May 05, 2019.

Restoration was made possible with funding from the Preserve New Jersey Fund, State of New Jersey/NJ Historic Trust, Middlesex County and Plainsboro Township.
