1. Billy Joe Shaver Marker
Billy Joe Shaver was a pioneer of the outlaw country music movement. He is credited with writing some of the genres greatest songs. Shaver was born in Corsicana, Texas and raised by his mother, Victory Watson Shaver and his grandmother, Birdie Lee Watson.
His music career included 17 studio albums, 8 live albums, 9 compilation albums and 20 singles. The songs that he wrote were recorded by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, The Allman Brothers, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tom T. Hall, Bobby Bare and many others. In 2010, Willie Nelson called him the greatest living song writer.
