Inscription.
South Charleston, Ohio was founded in 1815.

This is one of many historic structures built in South Charleston from the mid to late 1800's. Over the years many shops, including a butcher shop, operated in this building. The north half section of this building was originally owned by G. W. Luckey. He operated a drugstore in it from sometime before 1896 until 1903.

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Sue Mattinson of the South Charleston Heritage Commission hired local sign painter Mark Massie of Massie Signs & Art who designed and painted the mural in 2022.
