1. Plainsboro September 11 Memorial

Inscription.
On September 11, 2001, the United States suffered the deadliest terrorist attack in its history. Terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes. American Flight 11 flew into the World Trade Center's north tower at 8:46 AM. United Airlines Flight 175 flew into the World Trade Center’s south tower at 9:03 AM. American Flight 77 flew into the Pentagon at 9:37 AM. American Flight 93, believed to be targeting the White House or the Capital Building, crashed on a rural field in Somerset County, Pa. at 10:03 AM due to the heroism of its passengers and thwarted the hijackers' goal.

This memorial is dedicated to the innocent loss of life on that tragic day.

Lost among the 3,021 dead and missing victims were four Plainsboro residents, who lost their lives at the World Trade Center. They are remembered by the adjacent four trees, a living tribute to them and to all the victims lost on that unforgettable day.

We Remember September 11, 2001 On a morning so indescribably beautiful that time stopped, terror came from the cloudless sky. In blinding flashes it ripped from our grasp our family, our friends, our colleagues, and our innocence. Our pain was beyond bearing. The senselessness immeasurable. Our grief incalculable. But even as the rubble smoldered, hope rose from the debris and ash. Our pain would lessen. Landmarks would be rebuilt. Life would continue. And though our losses would be forever, so would our memories. Bill Hart
