Inscription.  O edifício primitivo foi construído no fim do séc.

The first theatre was built at the end of the XVIIth century, credited to the Italian architect, Mazoneschi. It was destroyed by fire in 1908 and the new theatre was designed by the architect Marques da Silva who introduced architectural innovations to Oporto.
