Dedicated to the 57,000 men and women of Oregon who served in Vietnam

So long as we are not forgotten we do not die. And thus this garden is a place of life.
 
Erected 1987 by Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial Fund.

Architect Doug Macy donated the design, a spiraling path up a hill flanked by granite monuments, carved with the names of the nearly 800 Oregon soldiers killed or missing in Vietnam. The spiral pattern is meant to evoke birth, life, death and rebirth.

The Garden of Solace is a manicured lawn with an ascending spiral pathway. Additional memorials are placed at intervals along the pathway.
