Inscription. The beginning of the tourist trade in this province and probably the first tourist establishment in the Dominion of Canada, and its founder Mr. James L. Holman.

The Holman name has been long associated with the founding and development of Summerside.

The Park Island Hotel was destroyed by fire in 1904.
