1. Home of Dr. James McTier Ogle Marker
One of the first physicians in Frisco, Dr. Ogle was born in Tennessee in 1870 and moved to Frisco in 1902. This home was designed and built by Dr. Ogle in 1912 for his wife Clara and three daughters, using lumber salvaged from Friscos first schoolhouse, the Howard School. Weary travelers boarded in the home after arriving on the last night train to Frisco. Local teachers also boarded in the home for many years. Always prepared to make a house call, Dr. Ogle kept three horses on the ready. Later, he owned the first car in Frisco, a 1904 Schacht. Dr. Ogle was a Master Mason, active on the school board and member of Order of Odd Fellows. He also served as mayor from 1934 to 1936 and continued practicing medicine until his death in 1944. Mrs. Clara Ogle was also very involved in the community and helped establish Friscos PTA and was Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star.
