Inscription. Samuel and Rose Quirk ran a tailoring business and tea rooms in Main Street for a number of years and were involved in many community activities particularly with the Methodist Church. Their son Roy, who was a member of the church choir, had fine tenor voice and his sister Lella played the organ and piano, so both were in demand to participate in many of the towns social events.

Roy served with the A.I.F. in WW1 and with the RAAF in WW2 and married Elizabeth Davies, whose parents ran the local store and post office just up the hill.
