1. Architectural Features Summerside Heritage District Marker
Inscription. Summerside is fortunate to have many historic buildings in its downtown neighbourhood as living testament to the tastes and skills of previous residents. In 2003 a heritage district was designated by the City under its Heritage Conservation Bylaw and is shown on the map. Within that radius of streets lies an abundance of buildings with different styles of design. This series of panels focuses on some of the architectural details from the mid 19th to early 20th century that you will see as you stroll around the area.

A Bargeboard is a board trim that is attached to the underside of the gable line of a roof. It is typically carved into an attractive pattern that enhances the front facade of a house. The designs can often be unique and add a finishing touch to a dwelling.

Erected by City of Summerside.
