St. Mary's Baptist Church

Organized in 1887 to serve the African-American citizens in this area of Collin County, St. Marys Baptist Church was originally located approximately 5 miles northwest from this location near the intersection of Custer Road and State Highway 121. Later that year, the church was moved to this location. St. Marys Baptist Church is a vital link in the history of the City of Allen and its longtime existence is a testament to the faith and perseverance of its members.
Erected 1998 by City of Allen and Allen Heritage Guild.
