1. The Farmhouse Marker
Inscription.
Early 20th Century. This story and a half-style is described as “4-square” — meaning 4 large square rooms on the main floor. Each room opened to another. This house features a single large room upstairs with plenty of attic space under the eaves. Access to the upper room was from the dining area and is an enclosed stairway. The wrap-around porch was great for hot summers allowing for a lot of outdoor living. This house still has an enclosed porch area — which many people did to add a bathroom when plumbing became available. This will be removed as it is restored to the original period. There are no fireplaces, but flues for stoves.
