Coming home. For many service members and their families, arriving home is a very joyous and special occasion - an opportunity to celebrate, embrace and reconnect after many months of separation. A jubilant time for many service members, for others, a time of uncertainty and trepidation as circumstances may have changed during their deployment.
Throughout American history, homecoming experiences for our veterans have varied widely- some received huge celebrations and ticker tape parades, others protests and scorn, and still others simply exited a train or bus and quietly went back to civilian life.
Welcome home, soldier. Thank you for your sacrifice and your service.
