1. Windsor Cottage Marker

Inscription. This classic California beach Bungalow was originally known as “Pinewood Cottage” and located on Flora Avenue. It was once the home of Commander Earl Winfield Spencer, Jr., the first commandant of Naval Air Station North Island, and his wife, Wallis, from November 1920 until July 1921. After their divorce, Wallis met Edward, Prince of Wales, who would abdicate the British throne to marry her. The home was saved from demolition and moved to hotel property in 1990.
