Auf Initiative der im 19. Jh. aktiven Feuerbacher „Mittwochsgesellschaft“ wurden 1865 die Handwerkerbank und 1868 die Bürgerbank gegründet, die dem Kapitalbedarf der aufstrebenden Gemeinde entsprochen haben. Die Handwerkerbank änderte 1919 ihren Namen in Gewerbebank, die sich 1937 als „Feuerbacher Volksbank e.G.m.b.H.“ etablierte. Im Jahre 1943 wurde die Bürgerbank in die Volksbank integriert. Die günstige Geschäftsentwicklung erforderte 1939/40 die Errichtung eines neuen Bankgebäudes in der Stuttgarter Straße, welches bereits 1944 einem der Bombenangriffe zum Opfer fiel. 1958 konnte ein neues Bankgebäude seiner Bestimmung übergeben werden, das 2009 abgerissen und durch das heutige „Cityhaus“ ersetzt wurde.

At the initiative of Feuerbach’s 19th-century “Wednesday Society,” the Handwerkerbank was founded in 1865 and the Bürgerbank in 1868. These banks met the financial needs of the growing community. The Handwerkerbank changed its name to Gewerbebank in 1919 and became the Feuerbacher Volksbank e.G.m.b.H. in 1937. The Bürgerbank merged into the Volksbank in 1943. Successful business growth led to the construction of a new bank building on Stuttgarter Straße in 1939–1940, but it was destroyed in a bombing raid in 1944. A new bank building opened in 1958. It was demolished in 2009 and replaced by the present-day Cityhaus.
