1. Bismarckschule / Bismarck School Marker

Der heute denkmalgeschützte Bau wurde in den Jahren 1904-06 von Ortsbaumeister Karl Kress als Zweiflügelbau im Stile des Historismus und der deutschen Renaissance errichtet. Dieses Backsteingebäude war das fünfte Schulhaus in Feuerbach und damals die größte Schule im Königreich Württemberg. Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente der Bau als Kaserne und Lazarett. 1920 wurde auf der Plattform der Schule ein Luft- und Sonnenbad und 1921 im Erdgeschoss eine städtische Badeanstalt eingerichtet. Die Bismarckschule ist seit 2010/2011 eine sechsjährige Werkrealschule. Sie wurde im Jahre 2010 mit einem modernen Erweiterungsbau ausgestattet.

(English Translation)
The now-protected historic building was constructed between 1904 and 1906 by municipal architect Karl Kress as a two-winged building in the styles of Historicism and the German Renaissance. This brick building was Feuerbach’s fifth school and was then the largest school in the Kingdom of Württemberg. During the First World War, it served as a barracks and military hospital. An open-air sunbathing area was established on the school’s platform in 1920, followed by a municipal bathhouse on the ground floor in 1921. Since the 2010–2011 school year, the Bismarck School has been a six-year vocational secondary school. A modern extension was added in 2010.
