In 1958 "United" was added to name after two branches of the Presbyterian church throughout America were united. The present church was built in 1925, using materials from first structure.

Regarding Dial United Presbyterian Church. Because of dwindling membership, the church merged with Main Street Presbyterian Church in nearby Honey Grove in 1993. The 1925 church building was demolished in 2023.
