1. Bebenhäuser Fronhof / Bebenhausen Manorial Estate Marker

Durch eine Schenkung des Grafen Adalbert II. von Calw im Jahre 1075 erhielt das Kloster Hirsau Besitztum in Feuerbach, welches durch einen Kloster- oder Fronhof verwaltet wurde. Als das Kloster Bebenhausen 1281 den Hirsauer Besitz übernahm, wurde ein Hofmeier mit der Bewirtschaftung beauftragt. Der Fron- oder Herrenhof als Sitz der Hofmeier erhielt den über viele Jahrhunderte geltenden Namen „Bebenhäuser Hof“, welcher an der Stelle Klagenfurter Straße 32–34 stand. Im 14. Jahrhundert war der Hof ein Lehen der Frauenberger Grafen, die ihn aber 1413 wieder dem Kloster Bebenhausen überließen. 1742 war dieser Hof einer von 4 Lehenshöfen der Württemberger.

(English Translation)
In 1075, Count Adalbert II of Calw donated property in Feuerbach to Hirsau Abbey. The property was administered from a monastic or manorial estate. When Bebenhausen Abbey took control of Hirsau’s property in 1281, an estate manager was appointed to operate it. The manor, which served as the estate managers’ residence, became known for many centuries as the “Bebenhäuser Hof.” It stood at the present location of Klagenfurter Straße 32–34. During the 14th century, the manor was held as a fief by the Counts of Frauenberg, who returned it to Bebenhausen Abbey in 1413. In 1742, it was one of four feudal estates belonging to the rulers of Württemberg.
