1. Tedd Jasper Gullic Marker
Tedd was born January 2nd 1907 in Koshkonong. He was raised here and attended the local schools. He was the son of Dr. James Franklin & Mary Gullic.
Tedd was 20 when he began his 26 year career in professional baseball, 1927-1953. He was 23 when he played in the major league for the St. Louis Browns, 1930-1933. Tedd spent the rest of his career in the minor leagues, 18 years as a player and six more as a manager. He had 11 good seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers of the American Association. Tedd hit over the .300 mark in 8 of the years. In his 18 year run in the minor leagues he managed to hit over the .300 mark 12 times. His hitting numbers in the minors show that he appeared in 2,372 games with 2,727 hits that included 370 home runs in 8,867 at-bats for a .308 career hitting average. Tedd retired from the game at the age of 46.
Tedd and Thelma (Tindel) Gullic purchased this property in 1939. In 1954, after his baseball career had ended they sold their home and moved to West Plains.
Tedd Gullic was a hometown boy who brought recognition and fame to his family and to the community of Koshkonong, and we gladly remember his life's story.
