Inscription.
This Red Maple Tree is planted by the Rhode Island Semiquincentennial Commission in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America in 2026. Like the original 18th century Liberty Trees - symbols of defiance, unity and freedom during the American Revolution - this tree represents our state's enduring commitment to freedom, equality and independence.
