The 525th Bomb Squadron of the 379th Bombard[ment] Group was
designated the Grand Slam Group of the entire 8th Air Force in 1944.
This designation is based on most flights most efficient, most accurate
and least losses. The 525th Bomb Squadron trained at
the Mitchell, SD Air Base during WWII.
