Gymnocladus dioica
During the Revolutionary War, the Kentucky Coffetree seeds were used as a replacement when traditional coffee beans were in short supply. It was also planted at Mt. Vernon, George Washington's home. This unique tree with distinct seed pods is only found in North America.
