Tower Hill Passageway: Henry VIII’s Armour

Henry VIII established a royal armour workshop in his palace at Greenwich in 1511. Several of its armours survive today in the Tower, including one from 1540, when the King was 49 years old. By this time, his physical bulk and poor health limited his actual participation in tournaments.
