Though Operation Desert Storm was a short conflict, it was no small task, resulting in 18,466 air missions and costing 293 American lives to bring freedom to the Kuwaitis. The red maple stands straight and tall like a soldier at attention and turns a brilliant red in the fall, symbolizing the heart and sacrifice of our service men and women.
