Inscription.
Among the oldest churches in Rankin County, Wesleyanna Methodist Church was established in 1847. It was originally located on a portion of Rev. Daniel Loflin and his wife Rosannah's homestead, which they donated for a church and cemetery. In 1921, the congregation relocated to Star, which was founded in 1900. The current church building was completed in 1958 on land donated by Howard Walker. It was built by church members and the local community using native stone and pine logs cut into lumber at local mills.
