The swamp white oak was the first tree planted at the September 11th Memorial at ground zero where the World Trade Center once stood in New York City. 400 Oaks have been planted at the memorial amongst the "Survivor Tree", which was pulled from the rubble of the World Trade Center and nursed back to health.
