Inscription.
In 1860, this post and beam, Greek Revival church was built for the Methodists on Kronner Road in Columbus Township. In 1882, the Methodists sold the building to the Baptists for $100. The new owners spent another $100 to move the church to a new location on Arlington Road.

The church did not see many changes until electricity was added in 1928. In 1930, the floor was raised (not the building itself) for a cellar and the installation of a coal furnace. At the same time, the original 12 foot tall windows were reduced to six feet in height. In 1951, the entire building was raised to create a social hall in the new basement and the original belfry was removed.

In 2001, the congregation moved to a new church on Palms Road. In 2010, the church was donated to St. Clair County. Due to its size, the church could not be moved in one piece. That same year, an Amish contractor was hired to dismantle the building, move it to the park, and reassemble it on a new foundation. It took the contractor only seven working days to dismantle the building. Each piece was labeled and moved to the historical village.

By the end of 2011,

the building was re-assembled and the exterior was completely restored, including a replica of the original belfry and 12 foot tall double-hung wood windows. In 2012, local contractors completed the interior work and the church was re-dedicated on April 28.
