1. The East Gate Marker
Inscription.  [English:]
The Tower of London’s Ordnance Office stored and exported military equipment for centuries. Workers produced and tested weapons at the Tower.

King Henry VIII reorganised the Ordnance Office in the 1540s to strengthen and demonstrate his military power.

These two huge mortars are probably from the 1600s. Cranes on the Wharf loaded cannon and heavy goods onto ships.

Le siège de l’artillerie de la Tour de Londres a stocké et exporté des équipements militaires pendant des siècles. Des ouvriers produisaient et testaient les armes à la Tour.

2. The East Gate Marker
The marker is located just to the east of the East Gate of the Tower of London.
Heinrich VIII. das Waffenamt, um seine militärische Macht zu stärken und unter Beweis zu stellen.

Diese zwei riesigen Mörser stammen wahrscheinlich aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Kanonen und schwere Güter wurden mit Kränen auf die Schiffe geladen.

The marker is located in front of historic ordnance from the Royal Armouries.
