Each emplacement had two cranes located at the edge of the gun platform. These service cranes were used to raise and lower party and equpiment in addition to providing emergency back up for the ammunition hoists.

Each emplacement had a set of exterior stairs that provided quick access for the soldiers to their gun positions on the platform.

Access, by the soldiers, between the gun platforms was provided by an exterior catwalk or elevated passageway that was incorporated into the retaining wall. This also provided for movement of personnel between guns in times of action.
