1. The Stout Building Marker
Inscription.
The Stout Building at 102 N. National Ave. was built in 1912 by Durkee and Stout. They were the Fort Scott Grain and Implement Co. and sold John Deere, Kingman, and International as well as buggies, carriages, and wagons. In later years they added Cadillac, Jeffries and Reo towing cars. The Stout Building has previously been in a car dealership, bowling alley, skating rink, a conference location, and currently Luther's BBQ.
