Inscription.
In the height of the railroad era 1870-1890's, numerous rail lines ran through Fort Scott and there were once five railway stations. Today, the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad is the only line that remains. The M.K.T. train depot was moved to 172 E. Wall Street, and was the last depot in Fort Scott.
