Inscription. William Gibson came to Mount Forest in 1868 establishing his furniture business. By 1881, as a qualified Undertaker, he expanded his business to include casket manufacturing in his new building. His sons John, Albert and Frank apprenticed in the shop and in 1903 Albert established his own business at 135 Main Street, building a new show room there in 1906. Frank Gibson carried on the furniture trade here from 1923 to 1936 when ownership was transferred to his wife Mary. John Hiller purchased the building in 1943 for a Bicycle Shop carried on by his son Robert W. Hiller in 1947. Jim Hiller's Ambulance Service also operated here from 1979 to 1987. In the next decade it was occupied by Arnie Feairs Record Store, the Bargain Barn and Rajan's Pharmacy. Brian Plume's Colour Your World operated until 2010 when he sold the building to Dr. Christopher Rowley.
