Inscription. William Falconer was listed as a Tailor in 1861 in Morayshire, Scotland. He came to Mount Forest in 1867 and opened a tailor shop on the Main Street. He took over the south part of these two store fronts, and Alexander Gow, a shoemaker, occupied the north side. Falconer died of consumption in 1885 at age forty. His wife was the daughter of the Foundry owner, Robert Kilgour. In 1890, E.C. Woods expanded the building to the west for his Wagon and Carriage Shop. An elevator was installed in 1895 when it became Stewart Bros Implement Dealers. Robert and Hiram Donald owned the building from 1903 to 1980 and were Case Implement Agents. They also sold pianos and organs in back and held dances upstairs. Some of their tenants have been the Eatons' order office, a Pool Hall, Barbershop, Rexhall Pharmacy and I.T.S. Jose Ledo purchased the south end of the building for Elite Water & Air.
