On the 60th anniversary of the entrance of the United States of America into World War II, the citizens and veterans of Queen Anne's County honor all those sons and daughters who served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.
We particularly honor those who died on the battlefields and oceans of the world so that their generation, and the generations to come, could forever live in freedom. May they forever rest in peace.
Let us never forget our friends and neighbors who fougth in the 115th Infantry, 29th Division, Company K, who participated in the D-Day invasion of Europe on June 6, 1944.
We honor those citizens who maintained the home front and worked and sacrificed to provide the tools and equipment necessary to defeat the Axis powers and bring an end to the most devastating war in the history of mankind.
May we always remember the millions of innocents throughout the world whose lives were sacrified during this cruel conflict from 1939 to 1945.
We dedicate this plaque on the 60th anniversary of our entrance into World War II so that future generations will always be aware of the sacrifices made by our generation in the defense of the United States of America for the preservation of freedom and peace for generations to come.
