Inscription.
In 1920, the building was originally a Buick-Chevy Agency operated by Lee Nigh. Dr. George H. Morris, Sr., built this building so Mr. Nigh could have a place for his business, and because Dr. Morris wanted to own a Buick. In 1921, Dr. Morris built the second floor on the original building adding hotel rooms and calling it the Morris Hotel.

The west part of the Morris Hotel was built in 1926. The entrance to the rooms was on the south side of the building. In 1927 Barclay Resler bought the lease. When Barclay went off to college in 1928, his mother took over the management of the hotel.

Roy Hensley bought the downstairs Lee Nigh Buick-Chevy agency in 1927, and moved the business down to the old Rhiley building.

Dr. Morris built the front part of the hotel in 1929, so it now had two entrances, the new one being on Main Street.

Mrs. Resler left the hotel in 1947 and Dr. Morris' daughter took over as the manager. In 1981, Dr. Harry T. Mills purchased the Morris Hotel from Toy Shaheen. Dr. Mills rented out the rooms during goose-hunting season.

In 1998, Lawrence and Rebecca Gette purchased the building from Doc and Shirley Mills.

After extensive remodeling, they converted the hotel rooms into small apartments. In 1999, the Laundromat was added to the south side just east of the entrance. In 2004 the Korner Kitchen was added, serving fast food to the community. The Cornhusker Kitchen took its place in 2011. In addition to the above uses, the building has an apartment on the ground floor that used to be a dentist's office, a leather shop, a garage and the Gette's residence. It is truly a multi-purpose building.

Erected 2014 by Old Town Project and 2010 Garden County Centennial Planning Committee.
