Before 1914, our ancestors were called upon to fight in certain conflicts, including the American Civil War (1861-1865). Today, the sons and daughters of our municipality and our region carry on the desire to defend the right to freedom through their presence among the Blue Helmets (UN peacekeepers) around the world.
