Farmer's Mercantile Grocery was built in 1920. Milton Skinner purchased this building and business in 1923. Ralph Landon purchased this building in 1931. Mr. Landon died in 1941, and Mrs. Landon sold the business to John Friede in 1944. Friede divided the store in half and opened a cafe in the north part which was managed by Bart Coeby and Marie Burkett. In 1947 Wayne and Helen Eames bought the store building and café. They closed the store in 1949. Marie Burkett closed the cafe and moved to Oshkosh. This building eventually became the home of the Lisco Rural Fire Department in 1961. The fire department moved to the new fire hall in 1984. Jim Jessen purchased the old fire hall shortly thereafter, and he sold this building to Mark Ribble who is the present owner. This building is now a storage garage and a paint shop for Mr. Ribble.
