The marker is located at USF (University of South Florida) Park on the Tampa Riverwalk, along the pathway next to the Hillsborough River. Regarding Site of Mirabella Fish Company. Mirabella Fish Company was started in 1898 by Sebastian Mirabella, a Sicilian immigrant, who got his start selling fish to dock workers at the Port of Tampa. The family business grew and prospered, and in 1952 spun off a companion restaurant. Three generations later, the owners retired and the market closed in 1988, as did the restaurant a few years later.
